About Dent IoT

IoT and product development since 2016

Marvin IoT ontwikkeling
(Kick)started in 2016

Dent IoT is a Dutch electronics engineering company founded in 2016 in Rotterdam with the aim of designing, developing and producing Internet of Things solutions. Dent IoT is a spin-off of RDM Makerspace (now RDM Next) and was founded by Niels Stamhuis, Jurjen Lengkeek and Vincent Wegener. The first hardware developed by Dent IoT is a LoRa development board called Marvin that was launched on the Dutch market in 2017 through a Kickstarter campaign. In 2018, Marvin collaborated with under the name MQSpark MachineQ from Comcast introduced in the US.

Dent Engineering

Much of the IoT product development in the early days of Dent IoT was commissioned by and in close collaboration with other companies. Examples of this are developments for RET, Heineken and KPN, in which Dent IoT is assigned the role of electronics expert, network expert and product designer within larger projects such as Shell Tapup. In 2021, this service was renamed Dent IoT Engineering.

Product development

In addition to Internet of Things development as a service, Dent IoT has the ambition to market IoT products itself. Examples of this are the aforementioned Marvin and the met Miggy developed Multisensor. The knowledge acquired from previous projects serves as a basis. At Dent IoT there is always a new product in the making Subscribe to the newsletter if you want to stay informed of new developments.

Team

The Dent IoT team consists of Industrial Designers, Electronics Engineers and Software Engineers. With this mix of skills, they are able to bring (almost) any idea into reality.

Vision and mission

Dent IoT was founded with the aim of enabling efficient and error-free working using the Internet of Things. In other words: Working without wasting time and resources. We achieve this by measuring where the waste is, so that the right measures for process optimization and automation can be taken. The smart use of connected sensors is a means of achieving this, starting with retrofit solutions and applying IoT sensors to solve specific problems.

Digitization: From one sensor to an Internet of Things

The more “things” are connected to the internet, the better processes become digitally transparent. With every sensor that is connected, a higher level of process automation and efficiency can be achieved. At Dent IoT we see that what starts with connecting one sensor will eventually grow into fully connected processes in which waste can be detected and resolved in detail.

Experts in the field of product and IoT development

Dent IoT is an expert in the field of product, electronics, embedded hardware and firmware development. We add connectivity to this, allowing us to create smart products that collect data automatically. We do not limit ourselves to just one service and therefore have specialist knowledge in many areas. From hardware to software, from UX to UI. In short, a lot is possible: we would like to involve you in this.
